Dont Forget the Fish Oil! During
a seven year study of residents in nursing homes, American researchers have concluded
that the Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish have a protective benefit against Alzheimers
disease. The Archives of Neurology* reported this week that eating fish can cut
the risk of developing Alzheimer s by a stunning 60%.
What
readers may not realise though is that if youre going to take a fish oil
supplement to safeguard your brain it is extremely important to pick one that
is of a high quality. Commenting on her own studies in this country Dr Alex
Richardson remarked regarding fish oil supplements: Unfortunately
not all of these are of good quality, and in some cases, they may not only be
ineffective, but could even contain harmful residues.
The
fish oils MorEPA and Omax available from 1st Vitality
are produced to the highest standards and are derived only from fish caught in the
deep sea to reduce the risk of contamination by mercury and other toxins.
These fish oils contain high levels of Omega 3 EPA,
the fatty acid that has been shown to be especially beneficial to brain function.
The processing of these products ensures that the active ingredients remain fresh, the capsules are free from odour
and any unpleasant fishy taste.
