Causes of Hair Loss
It is still not fully understood what causes hair loss, however, several hypothesis and models have been introduced to identify major factors of hair loss. It is commonly believed that stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, bad circulation, and sweat lead to hair loss. These factors can certainly accelerate hair loss or make an existing hair loss problem worse, but these are generally not the cause of hair loss.
It should also be noted that in extreme cases of emotional or physical stress the immune system can respond by attacking the hair follicles and creating temporary hair loss. Other types of temporary hair loss can occur after a major illness or surgery. Spectral DNC® can help you quickly restore lost hair and new hair will remain even if you discontinue use of Spectral DNC®.
Causes of Male Pattern Baldness
Male Pattern Baldness or Androgenic Alopecia is believed to be caused by an overabundance of binding between DHT and Androgen Receptors. DHT is a naturally occurring hormone which assists with sexual development during puberty. DHT and Androgen Receptors regulate the growth and resting cycles of the hair follicle and DHT is present in all men. The problem arises when high levels of DHT and Androgen Receptor binding causes a loss of biological balance in the hair follicle. This results in slower growth and longer resting periods.
Each time a new hair grows from an affected follicle, it comes back thinner and shorter than it did the last time. This degradation process over time leads to typical male pattern baldness which affects the crown of the head and the frontal hairline.
Male Pattern Baldness is usually a genetic condition and is inherited from either parent.
Normal cycle of hair growth and loss
At any one time, about 15 percent of the hair on your scalp is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place. This growing phase lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter per month during this phase. It is normal to shed some hair each day (about 100 – 150 hairs per day) as part of this cycle. If you are losing more then 150 hairs per day then you have should take steps to prevent further hair loss.
Hair care treatments
Chemicals (bleaching, coloring, and perms) as well as hot oil hair treatments may cause damage to the hair follicle, which can result in scarring and hair loss. Also, if you have long hair and you wear a tight pony tail, pulling on the hair can also damage the hair follicles and cause hair loss.
Starting Early
The process of balding takes years to occur and the longer you wait to do something about the more difficult if it is to reverse the condition. Treatments are usually most successful at the beginning stages of hair loss. Prevention of hair loss is always easier then reversal. If you have an advanced stage of hair loss and you have been bald for a long time then treatments may not work. Whatever your stage of hair loss, you best chance of treatment with least side effects is with Spectral DNC®.
However, many users who did not respond to the Rogaine or Aminexil treatment may see results with Spectral DMC including users with advanced stages of hair loss. You can also expect more pronounced and faster results (thicker fuller hair with result after just 3 months of use) then with either Rogaine or Aminexil alone.
If your hair loss is caused by hereditary factors then continued use will be required to maintain new hair growth. If you discontinue use of Spectral DNC then hair that grew under the treatment will begin to fall out over a period of 2 – 3 months. There is no “cure” for hair loss; Spectral DMC simply allows to control hair loss.
If the cause of hair loss is related to other factors such as diet, emotional or physical stress, and hormonal changes then it is possible to completely discontinue the use of Spectral DMC and retain the newly grown hair.
